The LASI PRIDE family fun day

For PRIDE 2010 the LASI family group ran a family fun day in Botanic Gardens. Many people gathered with their children, nieces, nephews, cousins and even pets to celebrate gay pride family style.

The days event saw children (and adults) take part in a number of activities including face painting, badge making, balloon sword fighting, inflatable football, plant potting, arts and crafts, bowls and all that was topped off with a healthy helping of storytelling which saw the children sing along and get lost in their imaginations listening to stories about a lion loose in Botanic Gardens and learn that just because someone is different doesn't mean it's ok to pick on them.

One child can be quoted as saying: "This was the best day of my life."

Another quote from a child when told her mother had gone to the toilet: "that's ok, i have another one, there she is!"

See some more pictures below of how the day went.

Some children enjoyed making badges with coloured markers, glitter, stickers and most importantly the badge maker
