Adapted from an award-winning play by Claudia Allen, this deeply affecting love story co-stars Sharon Gless (Hannah) of Cagney and Laceyfame. Out and proud Hannah and reserved Rachel have shared many decades of love, but now Hannah is
prevented from visiting Rachel, who lies in a coma in a nursing home. When a kindly nurse intervenes, Hannah begins to visit her lover secretly and a series of flashbacks reveal their years of enduring partnership, both passionate and tumultuous. Hannah Freeraises many same-sex relationship rights issues, but at its heart is a powerful story of simple humanity and devoted love. And as an extra treat, we’ll be screening a short selection of classic moments from the iconic 80’s police drama Cagney and Lacey before the film.
