THREADS: STORIES OF LESBIAN LIFE IN NORTHERN IRELAND THE THE 1970'S AND 1980'S
Threads is a collection of personal stories by lesbian women, from both north and south of the border, who braved the social intolerance and barricades of 1970’s/80’s Belfast to live, love and party on the small gay social scene in Northern Ireland. Written in their own words, these sometimes moving /sometimes hilarious stories give a fascinating and frank insight into the lives of lesbian women here, in the years before The L Word and the internet.
Threads is a non-profit community venture and was self-published by a collective of older lesbian women in late 2008.
